Cell Phones...do we really need them?
I have never owned an I-phone and I have never used one, so I can happily skip out on the disappointment of the release of the newest version. But it does make me stop and think about how dependent we are on cell phones. Up until this last year I had a cell phone, but I moved to Jefferson county and was not under my coverage area. So I have been living cell phone free since. At first I did notice the loss but now it does not seem so important. I know all the important numbers and write downs the ones don't know. I google directions before I leave home instead of relying on the phones GPS and in doing so I have learned to navigate around the community. So I can honestly say life without a cell phone can be simpler at times, I don't have people calling my at all times and it is much easier to ignore calls.

yes it is a part of life
ReplyDeleteNice work. I saw an expose on how these devices are helping autistic children communicate. Fascinating stuff.
